Episode 1 - Intro
In this episode I mention "sociological poetry." This idea come from the excellent book by Jeanne Cameron titled Canaries reflect on the mine.

Episode 5 - Accident or ProcessIn this episode our interviewee discussed the ABCs of Classroom Management. This came from Deci & Ryan's work on the Self-Determination Theory. The original book was published in 1985, however there has been lots published on the topic since. (I would highly recommend giving the Anderman & Leake article a read, lots of great practical advice!).

Episode 6 - Research
There was A LOT of research in this episode. To take a deeper dive into it, I've included my bibliography below.
I did mention a few key pieces that I'll highlight here. My favourite Nel Noddings article can be found here. I also mentioned how much I appreciated Paulo Freire's Pedagogy of the Oppressed. You can find a full copy of this book here. I particularly appreciate Chapter 2 and Chapter 12. I also read Kirsten Olson's A Learner's Bill of Rights from Wounded By School so I thought I would post that below so you can take another read. It's pretty powerful. |
