While many parts of this past week were truly wonderful, I would like to pull out two of my favourites. The first came in our second Seminar class where we were introduced to the world of PLNs or Professional Learning Networks. For me, the idea of building a community free of geographical barriers is just so exciting! You can speak to educators that are literally all over the world who share common interests. How cool is that?
My second favourite part of this past week was, surprisingly our workshop Teacher As Performer. Now I by no means consider myself to be a 'performer'. Aside from my one line part in my elementary school's performance of Oliver Twist, performance is far outside of my comfort zone. However, the entire workshop was so well designed to make you utterly comfortable in your own skin, and comfortable with everyone around you. Everything from how not to stick your bum in someone's face to planning a lesson that moves at a gradual yet productive pace. By the end of the workshop I felt ridiculously energized and inspired. Job well done!
